  • Location

    Rajcza is situated in the Żywiec Beskids, in the upper reaches of the Soła river, about 25 km away from Żywiec. The town itself is very picturesque, surrounded by the mountains belonging to the Velka Raca range. Name Rajcza probably comes from the conventions, ie. “rajce”, which took place on Velka Raca to settle border disputes. They poured a barrel of wine from the top of the mountain and the directions in which it flowed showed the boundary between the states. So we can safely say, that Rajcza is a place soaked with wine.

  • Beskidy Mountains

    Rajcza is the beginning of numerous hiking trails over the Beskidy summits, which allow to organize short walks, as well as longer, even multi-day tours. In the Velka Raca range the peaks reach over 1200 m and from there you can enjoy a beautiful panorama – with good visibility it’s possible to see the Tatra mountains. In winter the region is very popular among snow sport lovers – in the municipality of Rajcza there are over 20 ski lifts.

    There are lots of regular events held here throughout the year. One of the most popular is the “Peasant Rally”, which is a skiing race of 20 km from Rajcza to Slovakia.
